MP Tesla was designed as part of the objective-based game mode in Wolfenstein. As in all Wolfenstein maps,
the Axis team defends and the Resistance attacks.
The Axis hydroelectric station powers an air defense grid of large Tesla towers surrounding the area.
The Resistance's first objective is to shut down the key tesla coil to open the doors to the power plant.
The map was designed with the fastest attack route across the bridge being the most deadly,
but sub objectives allowed access to flanking routes. The Axis, in turn could build machine gun nests
or destroy the bridge to help them defend the objective.
When the Resistance disables the Tesla tower, the power plant door's locks are released, and they
can begin their assault on the interior. The second objective involves overloading the two turbines
in the station to knock out the power. This is an unusual objective for the MP game, as it was one
main objective split in two halves. As with the first objective, there are sub-objectives available to allow
the teams to more easily attack and defend the space.
The design of the map is quite different from Manor and Bank, since it involves no capture-the-flag style
gameplay. Instead, it focuses the combat in specific areas by becoming more of a territorial battle.
I designed and constructed most of the map myself, from 2d designs to exterior and interiors, as well
as scripting some of the special events, like door movements and elecrical switches. Additional work and optimizations by Shannon Gadbois, Dan Gold
