This map was created for an extremely vertical challenge for the players, and the setting I chose was a
vertical shaft, a "power core" used to control energy flow within a space station. I wanted a high degree of
interactivity to keep the matches fast and deadly. To this end I constructed air conduits that protruded from
the sides of the chamber to suck the players inwards and them blast them out at a higher location in the core.
For a safer ascent, other conduits led to elevators reaching the very top of the core. Magnetic jump pads also
could launch players upwards, where they could land on a large blue force field, battling it out in a surprisingly
unrealized
area of the map. A large energy projector hangs above the central platform in the center of the
chamber, and when the player above pulls a switch- ZAP! The player below is blasted by a bolt of energy.
This has fast become one of the most downloaded maps of its kind on its host servers.
